Installation Instructions

Follow these steps to install PhotoShow:

1. Set up a new database using your control panel for your hosting. Then import the file database.sql, located in the "assets/database" folder, into your new database. You can use phpMyAdmin to do this if your host has it installed. If you are not sure where to setup or import a database on your hosting please contact your hosting provider. For help using phpMyAdmin please visit http://www.phpmyadmin.net. If you have issue importing the original "/assets/database/database.sql" file then try using the older compatible "/assets/database/compat/database.sql" file.

2. Open the file database.php located in the "website" folder and enter your database username, password, database name & database host (usually localhost) for the new database you just created in step one. Save the file.

3. Upload all files in the "website" folder to your server using your FTP client.

4. Once your files are uploaded to your server CHMOD the "files", "ftp", "gal_images", "logo", "photog_upload", "sample_videos", "stock_photos", "stock_videos", "temp & ALL SUB FOLDERS", "uploaded_files", and "uploaded_images" folders to 777 Then CHMOD the file "tree_items.js" to 666 located in the "js" directory. Then CHMOD the folder "data" located in the manager/ directory to 777. If you are unsure how to do this please do a google search for chmod tutorials to learn more.

5. Now go to install.php page on your domain, (example http://yourdomain.com/install.php or if you installed photoshow in a side directory like http://yourdomain.com/gallery/install.php). Photoshow uses Ioncube encoding to protect the files, you will need to have a Ioncube loader on your site in order for photoshow to operate. On the install page you will get an option to automatically detect and try to download it, or download it manually. It is recommend to use the automatic proceedure. If it fails, please contact Ktools.net for help.

6. After the download of the loader, on the install.php page you should see a successful message, and click "activation" to activate your store. OR you can simply go to http://yourdomain.com/manager (or http://yourdomain.com/photosshow_dir/manager if you have PhotoShow uploaded in a sub directory of your hosting) and enter your product code. Your product code was sent to you in an email when you purchased PhotoShow. If you do not know your product code please contact Ktools.net support at http://www.ktools.net/contact.php.

You should now be able to log in using... username: admin password: admin

7. To configure your site change the settings under the "Settings" tab to your own settings.

Your PhotoShow website should now be installed and ready to use.

Creating a logo for your new PhotoShow site: To create the logo file for your site: Look in the "assets/graphics" folder for various PSD (photoshop) files. If you don't have Photoshop you can use the jpg files in the "assets/graphics" folder. Edit it to have the name of your site. Save the file and use your PhotoShow manager to upload the file as a logo. You can also make the logo from scratch, the recommended size is 765px wide and any height you prefer.
