Can PhotoStore or PhotoHost be customized?

Can I customize my store?
Yes, you can select from 15 included styles (color schemes) or customize PhotoStore to look however you would like. Changing the color scheme requires knowledge of CSS and changing the overall layout requires knowledge of HTML. Photohost has one built in CSS file and again you will need CSS knowledge to customize it. If you would like to customize the features of PhotoStore/Host or add new features you will need to know basic PHP.

Can I ask support for help with customizing my store?
No, our support system is designed only for asking questions if your store is having an issue. Like your seeing errors or something is seriously wrong and your site will not come up.

So don't ask for help in finding, pointing to, or even how to customize something as they will be deleted and unanswered.

Can I purchase add-ons and extras later?

Yes, you can purchase add-ons and extras at any time. You do not have to purchase them when you purchase PhotoStore. Add-ons and extras can be purchased from the PhotoStore Add-ons & Extras area.

What currencies is PhotoStore available in?

PhotoStore currently supports the following currencies: U.S. Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Euro, Pound Sterling, Yen, Australian Dollar, New Zealand Dollar, Swiss Franc, Hong Kong Dollar, Singapore Dollar, Swedish Krona, Danish Krone, Polish Zloty, Norwegian Krone, Hungarian Forint, Czech Koruna. * New - PhotoStore now also supports South African Rands.

What languages is PhotoStore available in?

PhotoStore is currently available in English although it can easily be translated to other languages. Most of the content is contained in a language file or editable through the management area.

Customers of Ktools.net can log into our forum and download additional language files uploaded by fellow photostore owners.

Keep in mind we do not support these shared files, as there could be issue with them. If you upload one that you download from the forum to your site and it doesn't work you will need to uninstall (remove it, delete) it and let the person on the forum know it doesn't work.

Even with the language files the store doesn't translate database record to additional languages.

Example: You upload a photo and in the description you put "Photo of a flower" the store will not translate that as that is being read from the database.

The language files translate only static text that is on the site.

Example: text in the store that says "Photo Categories" above the category list would be translated.

What payment options will my customers have?

Your customers can checkout and pay using any major credit card, bank account, money order, PayPal funds, or check. PayPal, 2Checkout.com, Plug n' Pay, Authorize.net and MyGate.co.za gateways are integrated into PhotoStore and you can easily add others if you know basic PHP.

Can I sell different size prints?

Yes, you can setup an unlimited number of sizes and print types to sell. These can be global or specific to only certain photos.

How are print orders fullfilled?

You are responsible for fullfilling all print and product orders yourself. You can send the order to a print lab of your choice for processing and have it shipped directly to your customer.

Can I sell other products such as T-Shirts or CDs?

Yes, you can sell other products the same way as you sell prints. Just enter the product under the prints & products area of the manager, give it a price and save. The product can be global or specific to only certain photos.

Can I sell multiple sizes of the same photo?

Yes, you can have PhotoStore automatically create an unlimited number of additional sizes from the original. These can be created when the original is added and stored on the server or they can be generated on the fly when they are purchased.

Do I need hosting before I purchase?

No, you can get your hosting at any time either before or after your purchase. Although we suggest getting your hosting first to make the installation process faster it is not required.

What programming language is PhotoStore written in?

PhotoStore is written in PHP and uses a MySQL database. It uses HTML and CSS for the design elements and layout.

Is PhotoStore a custom solution?

While PhotoStore works for most people in its original form others may want to use it as a starting point for building a custom solution. PhotoStore is very flexible and can be customized easily. Please keep in mind that Ktools.net is not a custom web development company and when you are purchasing our products you are not getting custom web development services. We only sell software and scripts. It is up to you to customize the software if you wish to do so. Can subscriptions be turned off?

Yes, the subscription features can easily be turned of in the management area for PhotoStore.

Can I have private categories?

Yes, you can have an unlimited number of public and private categories. Private categories can be password protected so that only those who have the password can view or purchase the photos in the category.

Can selling prints or digital photo be turned off?

Yes, both selling digital and print features can easily be turned off in the management area. If you would only like to sell prints you can turn off the "sell digital version" option. If you would not like to offer any prints or products in your PhotoStore you can turn off "sell prints and products". You can also set these options per photo.

Can I offer free photos?

Yes, you can set the price of any photo to 0 and it will be offered free.

How many photos can PhotoStore handle?

PhotoStore can handle an unlimited number of photos. It does not impose a limit on the number of photos that can be added although your host may have limits on bandwidth or disk space that will limit the number of photos that you can host on your hosting space.

Can coupons, promotions or discounts be offered to my customers?

Yes, PhotoStore now has the ability for you to create coupons that your customers can use when checking out. These coupons can offer a percentage off of the total price, a dollar value off of the total price, free shipping or tax exempt.
